Crazy (But Not Lazy) Days of
Summer . . .
This has been a crazy month! I hired an
administrative business manager, turned everything over to her
so I could go on vacation and it turned out she was pregnant
with complications, landed in the hospital, and I had to take
over until she could be replaced.
Then I had an issue with my merchant account, and now
I’m changing companies. Then my VA wrote to tell me she’s
having a crisis but is hanging in, which I was glad to hear!
So my vacation has been postponed and I’ll probably
take some long weekends in September instead!
On a happier note I’ve got some exciting
things in the works. I’ll
be interviewing Carey Peters next week who went through my
individual coaching program last year and just had her first
5-figure month for $11,000! How exciting is that??!!
I’ve been working with Christina Hills
promoting her Website Creation Workshop, and her videos have
been a kick-especially the one on Julia Childs! If you haven’t
seen it, you can find the information on my blog at www.theebookcoach.com/blog
and I’d love your comments on how you’re using video
creatively. And if you aren’t, why not?
This month I also created my first training
video for eBook Empire Builders on how I made $7500 in a day,
and I share exactly how I did it.
I have to say, I’m not crazy about seeing myself in
video. I’m 56, but
don’t think of myself as that old, so it’s a shock to see
myself on video!
The truth is that I have bad allergies and
sometimes my nose twitches and my mouth curves up when I’m
talking. I also have dry eyes so they sometimes blink too much!
It drives me crazy to see! I hate admitting this 'cause I
don’t want to be perceived as anything less than perfect, but
I’m sharing this because when I talk to people I find that
many people have issues with video, too!
But we have two choices: do powerpoint
videos instead, or suck it up and just do it!
The latter is cheaper and faster, but
it’s up to you!
Lastly, it’s the end of summer. Labor Day
weekend is upon us. Have a safe and happy weekend and party
hardy, because there are still 4 months left to make this your
most prosperous year EVER!
To that end….check your email because
I’m going to have a very cool Labor Day Special (as soon as my
merchant account issue is handled!)
That’s if for now,

How
To Connect With Your Customers For More eBook
And Information Products
Sales!
In order to connect with your target market,
you really need to know who they are, what they want, what makes
them tick and what keeps them up at night. In other words, what
their fears are. You never want to lose site of that.
Once you know this, you want to “bend” the
benefits of your products and/or services to match what it is your
target market is looking for. Don’t
lie- and always stay in integrity with yourself, but
highlight the aspects of your product or service that speak
to their needs, fears and wants.
This means finding a hook that appeals to your
potential customers. For example, in real estate, rather than saying
you can help someone find a home to buy (which would be generic),
your hook might be something like, "It’s a buyer’s market,
so there’s never been a better time to buy a home, and I can help
you get the best home at the lowest price in this area.
I’ve been working here for 20 years and know the market better
than anyone else out there."
In this sentence you tell them what you can do
for them and it’s exactly what they want-the best home at the
lowest price. You also tell them why you are the best person to find
it for them (you have the experience and know the area). That’s
what a person looking for a home in the area would want to hear. Now
if you didn’t have 20 years experience, then you couldn’t say
that and would have to find another hook that you could
substantiate, but you get the point!
Now once you understand what your hook is,
you’ll want to use the same phraseology, especially “hot
button” words that touch your potential customers emotions and get
them to take immediate action. These are words that describe your
target market's wants, needs, fears and pain in a way that cuts to
the core. You’ll want to use these words in your sales copy for
EVERYTHING that you do, even if it’s free like a free Q and A or
special report. That will insure that you connect with them
emotionally so they will start to know you, like you, trust you, and
ultimately buy from you.
It is critical that you learn to listen to your
audience, or your business will FAIL.
So keep your ear to the ground, listen to your customers, and
always give them what they want for robust sales and a thriving
business!

Reader's
Q&A
|
|
Q. Why
can you charge more for an ebook than a print book? Is it because it
is niched?
A.
Sort of. When it solves a problem people have, they are willing to
pay for it to get it immediately. In most cases they can't get it
offline in a bookstore, which makes it more valuable.
It's also because you can offer bonuses with it, so it has
more value than a book.
Q.
Rather than self publishing your ebook in paper format, will
printing ebooks on demand happen normally via Amazon, LuLu and
others?
A.
Amazon can download it digitally. But yes, you would use a company
like Lulu or iUniverse to print paper copies for self-publishing.

"My mother drew a distinction between achievement and
success. She said that 'achievement is the knowledge
that you have studied and worked hard and done the
best that is in you. Success is being praised by
others, and that's nice, too, but not as important
or satisfying. Always aim for achievement and forget
about success.'"
