“I love to see little girls go out and grab the world by the lapels. Life’s a bitch.
You’ve got to go out and kick ass!”

-Maya Angelou

A personal note from Ellen:

Happy 4th of July! This is the day that we, in the United States, celebrate our independence from England. It took some brave men and their families courage to take huge risks and make it happen. If they had lost, they would have all been killed, but they believed with all their hearts in their mission, and they created a nation the likes of which the world had never seen, giving us the Constitution and Bill of Rights, a road map to this experiment called “Democracy” (actually it’s a Republic ,but still….)

Now, look how far we’ve come that we now have a woman presumptive nominee of a major political party. Regardless of what your personal feelings are about Hillary Clinton, she is an inspiration to millions of women. I admire the fact that she’s still standing; she never gave up, which is why I quoted Maya Angelou this week!  Because it’s true.

So what are you willing to fight for? Are you willing to fight for your independence? How committed are you? Are you willing to take risks and do whatever it takes? Create something the world has never seen? Something only you can deliver? Because that is what it takes.

Too many authors and entrepreneurs don’t think they are unique enough or that they have something they can offer that is different enough that people will love, but I promise you that you do.  I have worked with many people who are in the same niche and no two have created anything even close to being alike. We each see the world from our own perspective and world view, and no two people interpret it the same way.

My own experience confirms it. When I started going on other people’s calls who were in my niche, I was, at first, surprised at how different their trainings and programs were from mine. Of course, I think mine is easier and better, but the truth is that people have different learning styles; some will connect with me and others won’t; some will connect with someone else; and some will take multiple courses including mine.

When I created my 3 Days to eBook Cash Program,  there were no other programs out there; mine was the first, so I had nothing to compare it to.  I created it because I wanted a fast easy way to write ebooks and there weren’t any. The way that I learned was complicated and frustrating because nobody had a system that worked for me and nobody had support,  so I had to learn piecemeal. It was time consuming and expensive.

But, when I created my program, I didn’t create it out of thin air either. I studied different aspects that I knew would be important to the process, added my own experience, and then taught it, and refined it.  I have continued to do that every time I have taught it since and I’ve taught it 30 times now. Plus, the marketing continues to changed, and since it has a marketing component to it, it has required periodic updates anyway.

But, here’s what I want you to know…anyone can do what I did. Find a problem, and then find a way to solve it. Creativity is just taking two or more elements and putting them together in a new way. You have to be willing to risk looking stupid and possible “failure”,  which just means “first attempt in learning”. It takes courage to put yourself out there. The founding fathers had immense courage to do what they did.  Do you?

If you want your independence, now is the time..Create, Risk, Test, and Succeed!

I hope you’re having a safe and happy 4th!

(Sorry it’s late, but I fell and twisted my ankle which set me back.)

That’s it for now…..

Screen Sharing Resources

If you work with clients, there are times when you will need screen sharing.

My favorite one is join.me and they have a free version now.

If you want to record, you’ll have to upgrade to a $20-a-month plan
and it allows you to add more value so you can charge more.

Other options include:
And TeamViewer.

You can also share your screen in Google Hangouts, but it will
be public while you are live. Then, once you are done
you can make it private.

You can google it to find others as well, but this will get you started!
