“I have accepted fear as a part of life-specifically the fear of change…I have gone ahead despite the pounding in the heart that says: turn back.

Letter from the Editor

Happy Go for Broke Day Tuesday, April 5th This is the day to go all out and take a chance. Maybe it’s time to start something you’ve been afraid to start whether it’s a new job project, a relationship, or an investment.  It’s easy to play it safe, but that is not where the rewards are. The rewards come when you get outside of your comfort zone and go for broke!  So, what’s it going to be?

In business this week….I can’t believe how time flies! The two ebooks I have on Kindle are getting a little tired; it’s been two years and three years respectively since they were first uploaded and launched!  So, I’m updating them. I’m also changing the name of the prequel to the 3 Days to eBook Cash Program so that it will be part of the Real Easy eBooks Series; it was How to Make Money Writing Quick Non-Fiction…Guaranteed! When I first wrote them, I didn’t know that a series was better and I didn’t think about a long-term strategy. But, the great thing about ebooks is that you can always make changes!

If you have books that could be put into a series, do it!  It brands them and you’ll make more sales because someone sees one, they will see the whole series and if they need one, they may feel they should buy them all. It also builds a strong brand so it’s easier to sell new books in the series each time because it is now a known commodity.

In other business news….I did another Periscope this week on my 4-Step Strategy for a 6-Figure Business, and I realized that I didn’t want to be sending emails out every time I did one because I am not sure how often I want to do them. So, I created an opt-in page where my subscribers who want to know when I am doing one live will get the notices, but everyone else will only get the notice in this newsletter under freebies; they will always be available at katch.me/ellenviolette.

To get on that list, see “Announcements” below.

I’ve also created two new special reports this one: one that you can get at the bottom of this week’s article and one for a very niched market that I can easily change for different niches. If you can do this, it will always be less work than creating something new for each niche.

Thought for the week: Serializing and cookie-cutter titles are ways to cut down on your workload. So, always ask yourself before you start a project if it could be a series or if you can create a report or article that can be easily changed for different niches. I wish I had known this when I started, but hey, it is what it is.

That’s it for now…..

Article of the Week

How to Crush it on LinkedIn To Get Amazing Opportunities, Leads, & High-Paying Clients!

In my latest Periscope, I talked about my 4-Step strategy to creating a 6-figure business. (If you missed it you can watch the replay at katch.me/ellenviolette.)

One of the keys to doing this is to get high-paying coaching clients. (There are other ways to do it, but this is the fastest. Plus, by coaching, you learn what your customers want so you can continue to create programs that give it to them while increasing your business profits.) And the best way I have found online to get access to these clients, both directly and indirectly, is through LinkedIn.

By working LinkedIn, I have been offered the opportunity to speak at a major conference, free tickets to another major conference, the opportunity to create a bonus for a product that compliments what I do that will get my work in front of a whole new group of prospects, joint-venture partners, free coaching, and clients- a lot of good stuff! And, to be honest, the opportunities have the potential to make a lot more money than just getting clients because you are getting in front of hundreds or thousands of people at a time (creating leverage).

How do you get started?

The first thing you have to do is commit to it and be willing to do the work. Let’s be honest, its so much easier to keep doing what you’ve been doing than it is to tackle another social-media site! Plus, there is a learning curve. But, as you can see from my results (and I haven’t been doing it seriously that long) the results are well worth the time and effort!

When I first started, I thought it just took too long.  In reality, it took about two hours a day…honestly, I wanted to quit. But, with the help of my coach, I hung in. I’m so glad I did as that phase only lasted a few days. Then, I figured out how to make it go faster (create swipe files and focus on a single target market). Before I knew it, I was sailing along, making contacts, and getting results.

So commit to the process and be willing to do the work.

Next, create your profile.  Having a professional profile, with a good-looking banner that let’s your target audience know who you are and what you do, is vitally important; so don’t rush it.

It took me several weeks from the time I started designing my banner until it was done and a few more weeks to get enough of my information on the site to be ready to go live. (This is the most time-consuming part, but you only have to design it once, and then just make periodic updates.)

It has be organized so it flows and is easy to read, and it needs to include a summary, your experience, any books and/or publications you have written for, volunteer work (if you have any), causes you care about, courses you’ve taken, education, your interests, organizations you belong to, honors and awards, recommendations-anything that will help your prospects decide if they want to connect with you.

The more information you can provide, the easier it will be for the right people to find something that you have in common that they can relate to and will give them the confidence to reach out to you.

Then, once your profile is up, you’ll want to start getting recommendations for your work because recommendations give you third-party validation, which is very important in social media.

Get that, at least, started and  you’ll be ready to start networking! But, you want to do it the right way. You only get one chance to make a good impression. To that end, I have written a report on the 3 biggest mistakes people make on LinkedIn.  You can grab a copy at: www.bestsellerbusinessblueprint.com/linkedin-mistakes

Tech Tips

Google Reverse Image Search

Have you ever come across a saved image on your computer and can’t remember where you found it?
I know I have.

In the early days, we used to grab images from Google thinking they were royalty free and it turned out they weren’t.
So, I would never use one of them now. But, what if you can’t remember if it was a free one or one that you bought?
Google Reserve Image Search will tell you!

1. Go to: www.images.google.com

2. Click on the camera image on the search bar below the text:

3. Find the image on your computer and upload it
or put in the url of an image. I chose to upload an image
from my computer: kindlebooks.jpg

4. It will bring up the “best guess” options for the image.
