Happy International Fun At Work Day!

This is NOT a joke.

It really is International Fun at Work Day!

So, here’s my approach to fun these days:

First some background: When I started my business, it was a lot of fun! I was learning new things, making serious money for the first time in my life, but little by little, it wasn’t fun anymore. In fact, it became a grind. And I knew something had to change.

So, I started taking more courses, and trying new thing, considered getting another coach, but decided that wasn’t the answer because I wasn’t sure what I wanted; I just knew it was something I had to figure out myself. So, I started asking myself, “What would I enjoy doing that WOULD be fun and was in my “lane”?”

I thought back to what I wanted to do when I first got on line and I had gotten away from it for many reasons. But the first one was publish books! So, I had to make it a priority

But, it wasn’t that simple, part of the problem was not what I was doing but how I was doing it.  I was working way too many hours and I was exhausted.

So, I had to change HOW I was doing business before I could figure out what I wanted to be doing and what I didn’t want to be doing.  Once, I figured that out, I started fixing my business. It’s still a work in progress. But, I have to say, I’m pretty excited about getting money from Amazon every month for my ebooks!  And I love doing best-seller launches for myself and my clients.  I’m definitely having a lot more fun at work now!

So my question to you is: “Are you having fun at work?” And if not, why not? What could you do to have more fun at work?

And speaking of fun (and not fun), my husband does watch a lot of television and I can often hear it in the background; and I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but there are a ton of ads for pharmaceuticals on that are not conducive to healthy living. So now we’ve made a pack that every time an ad comes on of any kind, we turn the sound off immediately so we never have to hear that negativity. I would prefer not to have so much TV,  but it takes Christen’s mind off how he is feeling so I can’t just shut it off. But, it’s something you might consider doing as well.

In business news…..my new logo is almost done. When the podcast art wasn’t working out,  I decided to get the logo done first.  It’s been an arduous process, and it’s frustrating at times.  But, in something so important as the image you portray to the world, you want to get it right!  Rebranding isn’t something you change every other minute!  But, it’s definitely a lesson in patience!

I also finally decided to move from Optimize Press 1 to Optimize Press 2. I was comfortable with OP1, but OP2 just looks better. You have to keep growing and investing in yourself and your business.  Now I have to take my own advice and learn it. Ugh!

12 Ways to Drive Massive Traffic To Your Kindle eBooks (For More Sales & Profits All Year Long!)

1.  Optimize your ebook and your Kindle keywords, so that people can find your ebook in Kindle when they are looking for an ebook on your topic.

2.  Create and/or enhance your Author’s Central Page. Most authors overlook many, or all, of the marketing opportunities available from the Author’s Central Page.

3.  Use pre-order promotions in Kindle. Why wait until your book is published to get the word out about your ebook and start making sales?  By using the pre-order option, you can start promoting and selling up to 90 days before your book is live on Kindle.

4.  Publish your Blog(s) on Kindle (and get paid to do it!) The truth is just by publishing your blog in Kindle, you can get more traffic to your ebook!

5.  Promote on sites that have messaging services. This is one of my favorites because it is so easy! If you are using a site that has a messaging service, you can send messages to everyone on a particular list and tell them about your book promotion or book.

6.  Give advanced copies to interested parties, evangelists and influencers and get them to review your book. (More reviews get you more visibility and more traffic.  They also make it possible to get into over 75 announcements sites that can drive MASSIVE traffic to your book during KDP promotions on Kindle).

7.   Do a KDP FREE promotion. KDP FREE promotions give you the opportunity to advertise on free promotion sites that can drive massive traffic to your promotion

8.   Plan promotions throughout the year. Most authors do a KDP launch (free) and then they stop.  By planning promotions throughout the year, you’ll get a lot more traffic than if you just do it once.

9.   Guest blogging. Get a guest blogging spot on the right blog and it can send your traffic into overdrive! Look for blogs in your niche hosted and/or written by the most influential bloggers you can attract and you could experience The Tim Ferris Effect!

10.Use a media-attraction site.  The media is looking for stories and information, and you’re looking for media attention. These sites can bring journalists and author/entrepreneurs together.

11.  Create related content around the ebook during the week of each promotion. This creates synergy and will get you more traffic.

12. Do a virtual book tour. Doing a book tour is free and gets you in front of a lot of people, many of whom will then go to Kindle and check out your book. Book tours can include a few stops or many stops and may include several different mediums.

Tech Tip

If you have a Facebook group on your topic, you might have people who are disruptive or negative and who you no longer want in the group. Or, maybe it’s a monthly membership and someone isn’t paying their membership fee and it’s time to remove them from the group, here’s how to do it:.

1. Click “Members” at the top of your group.

 

 

 

 

 

 

2. Find the member you want to remove. (You wouldn’t remove yourself but I didn’t want to “out” anyone!)

 

 

 

 

 

3. Click * beneath the members name and select Remove From Group
