“Coming together is a beginning, keeping together is progress, working together is success ”

Letter from the Editor

Happy St Patrick’s Day! March 17th recognizes the death of the patron saint of Ireland, St. Patrick. We wear green & have a beer! Enjoy!

Personal news first this week: I took a bad spill on Thursday. I tripped over a bedspread that had bunched up at the bottom of the bed and went flying into my dresser. I tried to catch myself with my right shoulder and tweaked it along with my neck and whole right side.

It’s a miracle I didn’t break anything, including my neck! I’ve NEVER hit anything so hard in my life. I was in shock for a couple of days and I was having trouble thinking. Very scary.

It also made me realize that even though I have a will, if anything happened to me, nobody would have a clue where anything was that needed to be handled. So, I contacted my brother and told him that I needed to give him a list. I gave him the name of our attorney and where my stuff is (in storage) and I’ll make a full list this week.

It was also really hard for me because I HAD to rest. I had no choice.  And I had to postpone this month’s eBook-Empire-Builders training, which I HATE to do. But, sometimes you just had to do what you have to do. Woody Allen says 80% of success is showing up, but sometimes, you just can’t!  And that has to be okay. When that happens, you just have to give yourself a break and that goes for me too!

In other personal news, I’m very sad.  My Facebook friend and colleague, Sylvie Fortin, passed away. I can’t believe it. She had cancer, but she was the most determined, positive, strong person I think I have ever known and I thought she was doing okay. I really thought she would beat it. She will be sorely missed.

In business news, I did my first Countdown Deal this last weekend. Because of my fall, I was unable to finish my bonus offer, so there was none, and I couldn’t do any promotion of my own either-other than a little bit of social media.  But, we hit #1, and we made more sales than with a free promotion, HOWEVER, we made less money because the price was only 99 cents.

I look forward to trying it at some point with a $9.99 book, so I can do several price points and see if that makes more money than the free promotion. It’s an ever-evolving process-which strategy to use. Hmmm……. (I still think if you are without influence in social media , you should stick to a free promotion because you get the most exposure.)

In other business news…I’ve taking a Fast-Track Linked In Program with T.R. Garland and it’s great. He’s walking us through it step-by-step on how to set up our Linked-in page to attract more business and it’s forcing me to make changes that I’ve been wanting to make for a while.

Plus, I’m learning some cool tricks to get me back into the top 1 % on linked in. (I was there in 2012, but as more people have stepped it up and I focused on Facebook and Twitter, I lost some ground.) If anyone is interested, T. R.’s next program starts in April. Send me an email at info@theebookcoach.com if you want the pdf with details.

New book! I’m one of the authors in a new book called: Romancing Your Tribe Online, Client Attraction in Action! This is a compilation book that people paid to participate in, but I was invited to be one of the guest authors to anchor the book. I’m not telling you this to brag, but to show you that when you build your author’s platform and your business, you don’t have to go chasing opportunities, they are attracted to you!  Check out my FREE PDF on how to build an author’s platform in 7 easy steps! www.ebookempirebuilders.com if this is something you want.

Create a win-win! This week, I will be interviewing Eric Lofholm, one of my mentors and sales trainer, for my upcoming podcast show;  and I will be interviewed by him for his podcast! How fun is that? You can do the same thing!  Find someone you want to work with and go for it!

But, the most rewarding thing that happened this week was watching my 3 Days to eBook Cash Workshop Grad, Marianne Kelly blossom. Not only did she write her ebook over the weekend and get her confidence back (which I shared last week), but she declared on Facebook that she’s planning to write a book on Women of the American Revolution and she’s got her sights on a Pulitzer Prize! How awesome is that for a big hairy goal as my former mentor Rich Schefren used to love to say? Congrats Marianne! Woo-hoo!

Lesson from The Bachelor: Chris picked Whitney! And it looked like Chris wasn’t going to be able to make up his mind…. until he did.  And what was interesting about his choice was that he knew what he wanted and he chose someone who wanted the same things he wanted. But, the problem for most people is they honestly don’t know what they want.  Heck, Becca didn’t even know she was in love, even though Chris’s mom kept pointing it out to her that her actions were those of someone in love!

Bottom line, you can’t get what you want if you don’t know what you want! So, figure out what you want first, and then make it happen! And if you aren’t sure, do what you think will make you happy and if it doesn’t, scrap it and try something else until you find it. And just know this can sometimes be a long process of trial and error so don’t give up! Just keep going for it!

That’s it for now…..

Make Extra Money On Amazon By Becoming an All-Star Author!

The most popular ebooks on Kindle are eligible for the “KDP Select All-Stars”. Becoming an All Star gives you the opportunity to make extra bonus money from Amazon. These bonuses are awarded to the top authors and the top titles for the month. However, your books MUST be on your Author’s Central Book Tab or you will miss out!

So, you’ll want to get your books up on Authors Central at:

To check and make sure that your books that are in KDP are eligible,  go to the Author’s Central Books tab and click Add More Books

Search for the book. Then, enter the book title and the authors (your) name and click GO.

Once  you’ve found the missing book, click “This is my book” below that book. (I can’t take a snap shot of this since I don’t have another book to upload right now.)

Note: It can take up to 5 days for books appear in Author’s Central.

Anyone with a title in KDP Select—even a debut author with a single title—can qualify if their work becomes a customer favorite.

Make sure you go over to your Author’s Central Page and do this NOW.

When I heard about this I went right over to Author’s Central and found that my eBook-Writing Fast-Action Workbook was NOT there!  So, don’t be surprised if your ebook(s) aren’t there either!

This could cost you thousands of dollars in extra bonuses! (They pay up to $5,000!) so we’re not talking chump change here!  So don’t wait!
