(Lee McIntyre went on Warrior Forum got distracked from eBay which he was making money with and tried different niches and markets some worked and some didn’t it was rocky) About a year ago, he got into the Internet Marketing niche with a post on The Warrior Forum , from one post he built a 6-figure income in 56 days! Quit his day job, and was doing this full time.
Lee: I was at school, a high school teacher, I went on Warrior Forum and I’ve seen lots of people…, sharing lots of really good juicy information and I kind of liked to do the same …to be really frank about it I was intimidated, I was a complete newbie, a beginner I was a little scared of the whole prospect of going on the Warrior Forum and making a complete fool of myself.
And I went to school that day and had the worst day possible, the kids were going wild I decided oh what the heck, I might as well go ahead and I only did it cause the day was going so dreadful. I looked at the computer…spent an hour, I just literally gave all the backend information for free, put all of that in the book. I was really scared before I hit the button. I thought some people might dismiss it, or not take it very well, but in the end…what the heck, clicked submit, and in the end the reaction was pretty incredible
Brian: The key point you just made was you gave all your BEST information for free. In the forums, you can give and give and give. You build your reputation, you get tons of free traffic and build your business-that’s an incredible tip. Lets back up, what if they don’t have a big success story or tons of information to share, how do you benefit from forums before that?
Lee: One of the best way you can use forums is to give some really good information but if you’re not in a position to do that right now, just share what you know, be genuinely helpful you can build relationships with people. They are a really good leveler. Even if you think you don ‘t have a lot of information to share. When you’re in a forum, you’re pretty much at the same level at everyone else in the forum and you can access anyone in that forum. Outside of a forum, if you send them an email, it’s difficult to get through to them…. they have gatekeepers in place.
But in a forum, you can strike a tremendous relationship with people who have influence in the marketplace. Participate, build relationships with people, that’s what’s really going to help you and be an asset in the future.
Brian: That’s an incredible insight right there. When you go to a seminar which is another place where you can network and make relationships, the business dynamic where you’re a participant and the most succesful people are up onstage speaking- it can be a little bit intimidating or a little bit difficult to strike up a conversation. But as you said, a forum is a great equalizer- it puts you almost at the same level so it can make it easier for you to make that connection with people you might not normally be able to connect with outside of that.

Do you have any examples of people who helped you when you were starting out in forums?
Lee: I was a complete newbie, and I made this big giant post on the Warrior Forum for free…I had no ulterior motive……I just wanted to share freely. A lot of people came back and congratulated me. And they said, I really appreciate this content…call me sometime.
One person sent me a private message, Dr. Manning, and he said he really enjoyed the thread and he was working on an eBay project and asking me to work with him…which I thought was incredible…. Things were going terrible and here I was making this post, and now I had people like Dr. Manning and a lot of people like that were contacting me asking me to work on eBay-related projects and I thought that was incredible, here I was a complete beginner.
And then from one post, I had all these people who had so much influence in the market place with big lists and sold lot’s of information products actually coming to me and seeking opportunities with me.
And not only that, a big UK marketer who sold a lot of eBay products as well and he actually saw the thread I made about eBay and he contacted me on the back of that thread asking me if I was wanting to release a product in the future. At the time I wasn’t planning to release a product. But basically if I did release a product in the future, he was looking to promote it for me. And again it just shows, if you go into these forums and give really good information upfront and don’t expect anything in return, magical things can happen.
This big UK marketer came to me and asked if I would release a product, could he promote it…which subsequently I did and he did promote it, and just from that one promotion I was able to add hundreds of people to my list, hundreds of buyers to my list, make several thousand dollars as well and instead of having to seek out opportunities banging on people’s doors and pestering people, I was able to make one post in a forum and sitting back while the opportunities came to me….
Brian: That is an incredible example right there. Most people would give their left arm to have people like Dr. Manning and that UK marketer seeking them out. Because if you think about it, when you were contacted by the UK marketer, you said you didn’t have a product and once you did come out with a product, you had a joint-venture partner and he literally help you quit your job.
Lee: Absolutely!
