FAQ#3: What’s the difference between Special Report Pricing vs. eBook Pricing?

First of all, there are two ways you can price ebooks. You can give them away for free and use them as a lead generator or you can sell them. And how much you can sell them for really depends on your market. Soft markets, in other words, where people aren’t going to make money from your ebooks tend not to be worth as much as in those where they can make money. But even within that arena it depends on which niche you are in.

With special reports it’s the same thing. You can have special reports that are free and you also have special reports people pay for. I like the $7 report where you give people enough to make them feel like they’ve really learned something but you’re also using it to get them to take people to the next step.

But there are niches where people really aware of the legitimacy of ebooks yet, and I’ve heard of special reports selling in those niches for up to $199. So the bottom line is it really depends.
