eBook Review: How to Make, Market and Sell eBooks All For Free
I was confused when I starting reading this ebook because I thought it included ebook writing. which it does not. It’s a primer on how to create the actual ebook i.e. how to make a cover, format it etc. market it and sell it. So, if that is what you are looking for, then you’ve come to the right place.
Author, Jason Matthews, like many successful ebook authors, learned the hard way (by trial and error and spending thousand of dollars on things that didn’t work) that it’s easier to make ebook sales WITHOUT spending money and doing it yourself, than by hiring others and depending on them to do it for you.
In this ebook, Jason covers the nuts and bolts from making your ebook, to picking the best domain name, creating a website and a blog, to the basics of search engine optimization, collecting your money, how to use the major social-media sites , affiliate marketing-including Clickbank, and some ways you can cheat to make it easier if you have a little money to spend. And it’s information every ebook author should have.
But, I found it a bit overwhelming at times. There is so much technical information and it’s so tightly formatted that it’s hard to take it all in. It would have been better if he had used better spacing, more bullet points, and made it easier to read.
In addition, it only covers the basics-not a lot of strategy. But, if you’re just getting started, this is a great resource.
Personally, I believe that an author/entrepreneur’s time is better spent doing what he or she is best at and leaving the technical aspects of making an ebook and creating websites to professionals (especially since you can go to www.fiverr.com and have it done starting at just $5 or at www.ebookthis.com if you want something more high-end!)
Still, my recommendation is to buy the ebook. Use whatever you can that is easy for you, and don’t beat yourself if you find there are technical things that you can’t seem to do properly. And if you find your eyes glazing over from the wall of text, take a deep breath, and only read it one section at a time. Remember, it’s a resource, so it’s nice to have when you need some guidance.
And as a creative person, with no technical background when I first got started online, I have found that by learning a little bit of tech and marketing skills at a time, it’s achievable over time.
