Two Simple Steps To Creating An Amazing Name For Your Signature Program That Will Put You On The Map & Bring In BIG Profits!

Sunday, June 15th, 2014

Step 1: Get really clear on exactly what the benefits are that people will get from taking your program.

Ask yourself: What do you want them to accomplish in your program?

And how will they feel once they do it?

Step 2. Think up a catchy title!

The best titles are generally short and punchy such as:

Monetize your Message, Fabienne Fredrickson

Money, Marketing & Soul, Kendall Summerhawk

Or, Reasons or Results Worldwide ™ Coaching, T. Harv Eker

If you look at these 3 examples, you’ll see that they all have one thing in common; they all use alliteration. That’s the repetition of the consonant sounds.

Using alliteration is one of my favorite strategies for creating names for programs, as well as for titles for books and ebooks.

The ear loves the effect of using alliteration; it lulls the listener and makes what you are saying sound more appealing to them.

Other strategies include using buzz words or phrases like:

Money/Monetize as in Monetize your Message

Transformation or transformational as in Transformational Author

Secrets as in Signature Program Secrets

Millionaire as in Secrets of a Millionaire Mind

and Rich as in Rich Dad Poor Dad Coaching

to name a few.

But, remember buzzwords alone won’t get the job done, they have to be in alignment with the benefits of your program. That comes first ALWAYS!

You can also use a play on words.

There is a saying don’t feed the bears.

I saw my friend, client, and colleague, Deb Scott, posted “Don’t feed the fears!” On Facebook. Pretty clever!

A title that uses this really well is:

Talk so Kids will Listen and Listen so Kids will Talk! which is an Amazon best-seller.

Or, instead of “Your Erogenous Zones”, Wayne Dyer wrote “Your Erroneous Zones” which was a HUGE hit and put him on the map.
(it’s a title for a book, but also audios)

And finally, using power words in a new way.

For example, Guerilla Marketing Coaching Certification Program

Here, Guerilla Marketing became the name of the business, the books, AND the programs! Very clever!

Or, Healthy Bitch Daily, the blog from the Skinny Bitch Franchise. And “Bitch Feed” Their membership.

So, always get clear on exactly what your program delivers and then, work on a name until you get one that stands out, gets people’s attention, and makes them want to sign up for your program ASAP! If you do this, you’ll always have plenty of buyers (as long as you deliver on your promise!)

eBook Writing: How to Create eBooks Quickly & Easily With Interviews!

Saturday, June 14th, 2014

Most people think they have to take time out of their busy schedule, sit down, and write an ebook in order to become an ebook author, but it’s simply not true.

The reality is that you may already have all the content you need for your ebook and not even know it!

writing3

And if you don’t, there are some really easy ways to create one WITHOUT setting out to write one! eBooks can be created from:

Blogs

Interviews

Videos

Webinars

Teleseminars

Autoresponders

Newsletters and more!

But, are easy ways to do it and hard ways to do it.

One of my favorite ways is with interviews because you don’t even have to create the content if you don’t want to.

Just find experts on topics you want to cover, come up with a list of questions that cover topics relevant to your ebook and you’re good to go!

And if you want to be interviewed, find someone to interview you.

Either way, it’s easy. And here’s why…most people don’t hesitate when they talk however many do when they write. And they don’t edit while they talk either!

Plus, the technology can be low-cost or even free, and it’s easy to use. If you don’t have a budget, I recommend using Audacity at http://www.audacity.soundforge.net

If you have a MAC, it comes with garage band which will also work.

I have a MAC, but I prefer to use Instant Teleseminar because I find it easier to use and it has some great features including the ability to do webinars and have an instant replay page to name a couple that I use on a regular basis in my business.

If you’d like to try out their $1 trial, my link to it is www.instantteleseminarsnow.com
(I will make a commission  if you go through my link.)

So whether you want to interview people, or be interviewed, using interviews is a great way to create an ebook very easily.  You may even already have interviews done that would make a profitable ebook. If so, even better!

The more you publish, the more passive income you will make, so it’s a good idea to always be looking for fast ways to create more ebooks!

Copywriting: 4 Keys to Making The Sale!

Tuesday, June 10th, 2014

writingpen

When  writing copy, there are 4 factors you MUST consider.

  1. Who is your ideal client?
  2. What is the message that you are trying to convey?
  3. Is your message clear to your audience?
  4. How are you going to push their emotional buttons to get them to take the next step?

If you don’t have a handle on who you are trying to reach, it is impossible to craft an appealing message for your audience. You need to know what problems they are experiencing that only you can solve,  and you need to know what’s important to them that will motivate them to take action and move forward with you.

On the other hand, when you are crystal clear as to what problems they are experiencing and how you can help, it’s easy to  tailor your message and start to build a relationship that can turn into a life-long love affair between you and your clients!

You need to listen carefully when you speak with prospects and current clients (if you have any) to figure out which ones are ideal for you.   You can do this by watching conversations in social media, looking at comments on blog posts and in You Tube, and/or by inviting people to a customer-appreciation day or a free consultation and let them tell you what they want and need.

In addition, clarity is key.  When writers aren’t clear as to what they are trying to convey in their copy,  they tend to ramble;  they create headlines and sales copy that don’t address the problems they are trying to solve for their clients,  and they don’t convert prospects into buyers. If you’re not sure who you are writing for and what they want and need, it’s difficult to get the clarity you MUST have to connect with them.

Another challenge arises when writers believe they are getting their message across but  it is not being received.  It’s important to run your copy by people you trust who will tell you the truth and let you know what THEY THINK you are saying because  it may come across differently than what was intended.

You also need to know how your market communicates so you can use the same language they use; it is by using that language that you connect with your audience. One way to do this is to, again, follow conversations in social media and model the language you see your market using.

When I was in the music business, for instance, it was common to hear guys say something like “Hey Dude, how ya doing?”  But, I would never say that to my copywriting clients who are coaches, independent professionals, speakers, small business owners, and author/entrepreneurs!  You have to know who you are talking to and their speech pattens to make the connection that will put money in your pockets!

When you understand your ideal clients and what makes them tick, you’ll be able to say just the right things in the right way that will help you to build rapport, make more sales, and increase your profits!

10 SIMPLE WAYS TO FOLLOW UP WITH PROSPECTS

Monday, June 9th, 2014

In any business it’s important to develop simple follow up systems to keep on top of your prospects’, customer’s and referral sources’ minds.

If you don’t do your follow up; you are wasting valuable marketing dollars and time you’ve already spent on gathering new leads.

Here are 10 Simple Follow Up Procedures you can implement in your business TODAY! (for service, product, online or retail):

1. Take immediate action: Always call or email within 48 hours of meeting someone telling them it was nice to meet them, asking about their business and finding out how you can refer business to each other and help each other’s businesses grow.

2. Take more than one action: In addition to doing #1, also slip something in the mail to them – an introduction letter and a brochure, a thank you note (handwritten of course),something to entice them to get on your list online or a flyer about your special promotion.

3. Use email wisely: Add them to your email database (if appropriate and IF you are heeding correct spam laws in your correspondence) and make sure they get an email notice within 1 week. *Do NOT add them to a mass email newsletter unless they verbally agree to receive it or opt themselves in online.*

4. Keep your ears and eyes out for others: Drop in the mail or attach by email a document, resource or article you found that you’d been discussing or something you recently read that would be of interest or pertinent to them.

5. Keep your database up to date: Enter them into your database (in the computer) so when you send out your next mailer they will be on the list to receive it. If you don’t have a database or a shopping cart to house your contacts, you should get one (ACT, Outlook) or start an Excel spreadsheet for starters. You’ll also need an email marketing service where you can house contacts but try to choose ONE system. You can outsource this task. *Do NOT add them to an email newsletter list however if they have NOT agreed to get it or opted inonline to receive it.

6. Send more than one mailing: Send out another piece of mail or email within 2 weeks of when you sent the first one; this can be more casual, a postcard, flyer, or another follow up letter asking for referrals in case they don’t think they can use your services right now.

7. Call again: Call, not necessarily to make the sale, but to further build that relationship, chat about opportunities to refer to each other, etc. In-person meetings could be good in case they forget what you look like however many times these days its much more efficient and acceptable to “meet” again over the phone.

8. Make a creative impression: If you’re really trying to get their business and you’re not getting anywhere, drop by a promotional product (s) with your card and brochure again or send it in the mail. Make sure your promotional product stands out from your competition and is unique or memorable.

9. Systematize your follow up: Make sure you sort your database by Hot, Warm, and Cold leads and then also by either where you met them (i.e.; Your City’s Chamber of Commerce, professional or service organization, social media site, etc.) or some other system (like referral source vs. prospect) so that when you mail or email to them regularly, you can do so to small groups at a time with a unique message. Mail to your database quarterly and email them monthly at minimum (monthly and twice monthly is preferred).

10. Plan year-round promotions: Send out holiday cards not only for December, but maybe for Easter, the 4th of July, or which ever holidays you feel like and then possibly their birthdays too. There are companies that send out cards for you, online sources you can use easily and there are websites that remind you when someone’s birthday is to make this easy.

These tips are for any type of business, retail, online, service or product. I am always curious as to how a store is going to follow up with me. I shop there, I write a check, and they have my address and phone number – yet 9 out of 10 times – absolutely NO follow up marketing! Only do the larger stores put me on their mailing list and send me mailers and/or emails (like Linens & Things, Cost Plus and Fashion Bug); these retailers know just when I come in because I normally always get another coupon in the mail right after to come back again. The one that does follow up with me understands that repeat business is 5-10 times easier to get than new business.

So, not only do you need to follow up after new people you meet to GET their business or referrals and build those relationships, but you also have to cultivate those relationships overtime so they keep you on top of their minds in case something comes up where they need your products or services or someone they know does.

7 Steps To Nailing Your Signature Program Topic FAST!

Monday, June 9th, 2014

Your business starts with a core concept. Once you know what it is, you can create a signature program that reflect it. But before you can create your signature program, you must do some soul searching and some research including these 7 steps.

-Find your passion

-Analyze your skills

-Figure out what makes you unique

-Look at your competition

-Figure out who is your best target market

-And Decide on your unique angle or perspective.

What’s Your Passion?

You need passion.to motivate you to get up in the morning and to help you recommit on a daily basis.

What Skills Do You Have?

You need skill to be the best in your field.

Where you have the passion and the skills is where you have the best chance for success.

What Makes You Unique?

Next you have to figure out what makes you unique. What makes you unique is your education, life experience, personality, voice, look and style, word view, and way of communicating.

There is nobody else like you in the entire world!  And yet, figuring out what makes you unique is often more difficult to do than people imagine because we tend to take for granted what we are good at and don’t always realize that other people will spend good money to learn what we know.

Check Out Your Competition:

Once you know what make you special, you have to look at whom else is in business in your niche, what they offer and what they don’t offer that you could offer.

What’s Your Best Target Market?

Before you can figure out what that is you, you also have to look at who is your best target market. They must be online, have money to spend, and fanatical about the topic.

Once you have done the research and have all the information,  you have to analyze it then, see how you can best use it to name your program and create your program content.

FYI: This is the same process you should be using to write ebooks as well.
