How To Skyrocket Your Credibility, Expert Status And Sales Through Co-Authoring!

Co-Author With Ellen VioletteToday we’re going to talk about piggybacking on someone’s success to skyrocket your credibility, expert status and sales!

When you create an ebook or book and no one has ever heard of you it’s more difficult to get people to buy it. There are millions of titles out there and with the explosion of Kindle and ereaders there are more titles available than ever.

As a reader how are you going to decide which ones are worth your time and money? As an author you need to give your reader compelling reasons to give you a try. First you need a great title to capture the imagination of your potential buyer. Then you need a great cover.  Covers are eye candy and humans respond to them, so they have to be attractive.

If you are providing a sneak peak into the table of contents and/or the first chapter of your book or ebook that can help.

On Kindle, people will read the reviews of your ebook. On, your website they will look at testimonials.

But here’s the rub.  All things being equal, if you see an ebook or book from Joe Blow whom you’ve never heard of or Top Expert Joe Somebody who you have either heard, or seen, who is world renown and/or has been recommended by someone who’s worked with them, who are you going to choose?

And who’s going to be able to reach more potential buyers and help you sell more books?

Joe Somebody of course!

So, how can you compete with that? You can’t. And, you don’t have to! Instead work with an expert in your field or in a complimentary field! Find one who is willing to co-author a book or ebook with you and piggy back on their success!

Testimonials: How To Provide Social Proof For Instant Credibility & Bigger Profits!

There are many ways to jump start creating credibility, expert status and stimulate sales and we’ll be exploring some of the best ways in this series.

Today we’re going to talk about using testimonials. If you have an ebook or product that you are trying to sell and you tell people how wonderful it is, that’s great, but it’s YOUR ebook or product, so of course you think it’s the best thing since sliced bread. Or, at least you should!

But why should anyone believe you? They know you want to sell them on your ebook and product and they believe that you’ll say whatever you have to say to make the sale.

But when OTHER people tell your potential buyer that they’ve had great results with your ebook or product and that this buyer should purchase it, that’s an entirely different matter. It’s called social proof. And in today’s market social proof is where it’s at.

So, how do you get testimonials to provide social proof? If you’re just starting out, the best way to get testimonials is to give your ebook or product away for free in exchange for a testimonial (until you feel you have enough to put on your website that will look impressive and tip the scales in favor of the sale.

Or better yet, if you have an opportunity to give your ebook or product away as a bonus with someone else’s product do so. Then ask for a testimonial. Since they got it for free, they probably won’t mind giving you one. If you offer a free thank-you gift in exchange-something they would find relevant and valuable- you have an even better chance of getting one. And by giving your ebook or product away, you’ll build your subscriber list, as well, at the same time!

You can also build a testimonial request into your auto responder sequence. Once someone receives your ebook or product, either for free or as a sale, continue to stay in touch with him or her through an auto responder sequence. First, share reasons why your buyer should use what he or she has purchased and then help him or her do it. Only then- once you’ve given ample time to actually do it- ask for your testimonial. And again, if you give a relevant and valuable free gift in exchange, your buyer will be more apt to give you one.

You can also run a contest for the best testimonial for an ebook or product after it’s been out for a while, or after doing an ebook launch, product launch or blog tour (when you have a lot of new buyers). The key here is to offer a prize that they really want. You can even have more than one; one for the best testimonial, one for the funniest, one for the first one etc. It’s up to you how many categories you want to reward. But make it fun and get people involved and excited and you’ll get some great testimonials!

You can also create a fan page for your ebook or product on Facebook and get people to post about it. Some of them will be great testimonials! You can create a blog around your product or a page on an already existing blog and ask for comments. Again, some of them will be great testimonials. And if you do live calls, occasionally someone who has bought in the past will share their experience on the call providing a great testimonial. When you get one of these be sure to make a copy of it and transcribe it then ask for permission to use it.

Also save emails you receive with flattering comments. If they don’t quite add up to a testimonial, contact them and ask if they’d be willing to expand it into one.

And don’t forget Amazon. Remember, people can leave reviews there. So, if you see one that knock your socks off, contact the person and ask if you can use it on your site and in your other marketing materials.

Once people are aware of and using your ebook or product and getting amazing results, you’ll have no trouble getting testimonials.

And when you reach the point where you have garnered a reputation as an expert, just offering to put a testimonial on your website, where your buyer will gain much-wanted publicity for themselves, is often enough to do the trick.

Just be sure to always ask for permission before using testimonials on your website and in your marketing materials. And make sure that you follow the FTC rules or you could be slapped with a big fine. (Basically, that means only use average results people can expect from reading your ebook or using your product, not extraordinary ones.)

Follow these suggestions and you’ll always have ample testimonials for your eBooks and products!

Social Media Marketing – The Best Groups For Connecting And Networking

Image Credit: Matthew InmanSocial media marketing is more powerful today than it was when it started a few years ago, but now there are some changes that will make it even more effective for entrepreneurs and online business owners. If you are already active on Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter – the ‘Big Three’ when it comes to this arena – then you have already laid the foundation for the next steps. If not, you’ll want to get started right away with setting up your accounts on these three sites to take full advantage of what they have to offer you in the way of helping you to connect with your target audience.

The idea is to take people away from the huge pool of people on these primary social media sites and bring them closer to you through the use of groups. There are simply too many people and too many conversations going on in the general areas of Facebook and LinkedIn. By searching for groups that are made up of people who are already interested in your niche topic you will be able to get past the noise and eliminate the mundane discussions that do not apply to your business.

Twitter remains the one place where you are thrust into the middle of a million comments and links that will not be helpful to you. I recommend scheduling your tweets to reflect the image you wish to portray in your business. I tweet a combination of updates to my blog posts, affiliate links for related products, and links to my articles and products. Every couple of days I log in and answer anyone’s questions or comments so they can see I really do have an interest in connecting with people.

Facebook groups are an excellent way to find prospects for your business. Do a search for groups using your keywords. Start with a more general search and then go more specific to find the exact groups that will be best for you. My belief is that the ideal groups have between five hundred and one thousand members. This allows you to meet the other group members and see what they are interested in discussing. Never post your links on the wall of someone else’s group because this is considered to be in poor taste and may even get you banned.

The groups on LinkedIn work in a similar way. Search for ones that meet your criteria for topics of interest by searching with your keywords. You can become quite active here by asking or answering questions on your niche topic to show that you have a level of expertise and are willing to share your knowledge with others.

After you have joined a few groups on both Facebook and LinkedIn, think about starting your own group. This allows you to have a venue in which to connect and network with people who are interested in learning more about you and your topic.

St. Patrick’s Day, Faith, And Making Sales On The Internet!

leprechaun4St. Patrick’s Day is the celebration of the life and death of St. Patrick who converted Ireland to Christianity. He had been sold into slavery as a teenager when Irish Rogues raided his village. He escaped captivity and fled to Britain, where he joined the church. He then studied and began to preach the gospel ultimately becoming Ireland’s second bishop.

He set up schools and monasteries, eventually converting Ireland to Christianity and popularizing the shamrock as its symbol. So…St. Patrick found himself in a distressing situation and he discovered a way out. He then began to preach it to help others.

Sound familiar? That’s exactly what authors do! When we find ourselves in a distressing situation we solve it, then we write about it, and coach others and/or speak about it to help others!

Oh yeah, and like St. Patrick popularized the shamrock as a symbol, we brand ourselves and create a logo so people will remember us. And if you do that well, you’ll be remembered maybe not for thousands of years, but at least for your lifetime. And if you do it really well, you may even be remembered beyond your lifetime!

Is This The Secret To eBook-Writing Success?

It’s a lot easier to create an ebook when you think you can then when you think you can’t or when you think that’s it going to be hard or stressful. So, one of the first things I have student’s do in my 3 Days To eBook Cash Authoring Workshop or Program, formerly The Quick-Start 3 Day eBook Authoring Workshop, do is create an affirmation.

(I know I can already hear the moans and groans!) Some people don’t think affirmations work. And I used to be one of them. But then I bought a book from Chellie Campbell called The Wealthy Spirit (Great book with great stories and affirmations)! And one of the affirmations in there is that “affirmations work even if I don’t believe in them”. And I found that when I started saying that, I started feeling better about doing affirmations!

And, then I had a student tell me that she attributed her success in my workshop to this one affirmation! By saying it over and it over, it anchored the idea in her mind that she had already achieved what she was setting out to accomplish that weekend. And it worked for her!

So, if YOU want to use affirmations to help you create ebook success, write down exactly what you want. For instance, ” I am now a successful author” or “I am now a published author”. Whatever it is. And repeat it several times a day. (It works really well to do it over a 3 day period while writing your ebook in the 3 Days To eBook Cash Program).

Now, I’m not saying it will work for everybody the way it worked for this student. other students would say there was more to it for them, but what I’ve learned is that when you affirm what you want it does focus the energy on it and it certainly can’t hurt, so what have you got to lose? It may just be the secret to your ebook-writing success!
