Women: Want More Internet Success? Happiness Study Holds The Key

I was watching CNN and they were discussing research showing that men are happier than women. And they said that the reason men are happier than women is because men tend to focus on their strengths and play down their weaknesses about50/50 while women to focus on their weaknesses and downplay their strengths 27% to73%! That’s a HUGE difference

So what does that have to do with success? When you focus on your strengths and outsource your weaknesses online you will be much more successful that if you spend time trying to shore up your weaknesses.

John Assaraff said it well when he said something to the effect of “Do what’s fun for you and let others do what’s fun for them and work for you.” To do this you’ve got to understand your strengths and weaknesses and be willing to let the weaknesses go. So if woman are focusing on their weaknesses they are sabatoging their sucess.

To turn this around sit down and make a list of your strengths and weaknesses and see how you can start spending more time working in your areas of strength and how you minimize the time you spend in areas of weakness.

See if there are things in your area of weakness that you can get somebody else to do. Keep that list where you can check it every so often and continue to shed those tasks that are not fun for you.

Over time you will see huge improvement in your your sales and profits, your happiness and your success!

Is Your Online Message Clear?

If your Internet message isn’t clear, you’re not alone-even the president, who is a brilliant speaker, is having trouble getting his message on healthcare out.

In fact, in the latest poll 55% of the people surveyed felt his message was unclear.

So how do you know if you message isn’t working?

If you’re getting traffic to your site but it’s not converting into subscribers or buyers (depending on the type of site) then your message isn’t clear.

So how do you fix it?

By tracking your traffic-you can use a free tool called Google Analytics to do it. And if you can’t figure it out on your own or don’t want to be bothered get help. But do it! It’s crucial to your success.

Then figure out what per cent of your traffic is converting. 1 % is normal, 2% is good, 5% is really good and any more is outstanding.

If you’re at 1 or 2% you’ll definitely want to shoot higher. Above that it’s a judgement call.

So how to you up your conversion rate?

By making your message more clear. That means improving your headline and your copy.

But only test one element at a time or you won’t know what’s making the difference for you.

How To Reach Your Internet Customers-A True Story…

…..On the reality show, Guiliana and Bill with E correspondent Guiiana De Pandi Rancic and Bill Rancic of “The Apprentice” were commuting back and forth between Los Angeles and Chicago because Bill’s business and home is in Chicago and Guiliana’s job is in Los Angeles.

But Bill wasn’t crazy about Los Angeles. In his mind it was just Hollywood, movie stars, plastic people, smog and freeways. So it was depressing to Guiliana when he came because he never seemed to enjoy it and that made her feel guilty for making him be here.

So she went on a mission to convert him. They went hiking in the canyons, scoured the Farmers market for yummy things to eat-and Bill loved to eat, and they even took surfing lessons in fabulous Malibu- but Bill said it was too time consuming to learn, and he didn’t have the time. Nothing was working.

It seemed to Guiliana that Bill was planting his feet and just didn’t want to like LA. She was beside herself. Then it dawned on her-
if she couldn’t make Bill love LA by sharing it’s treasures she would figure out what he loved about Chicago and recreate it in LA!

The one thing Bill loved to do in Chicago that he could do in Los Angeles was ride motorcycles. So Guiliana bought Bill a motorcycle.
By buying the motorcycle she was tapping into what Bill had an affinity for, she was speaking his language rather than trying to convert him to her way of thinking. And Bill was ecstatic. Last I saw they were riding off into the Los Angeles sunset in wedded bliss.

So take a lesson from Guiliana and Bill. If you want more ebook and information-product sales you’ve got to connect with your customers where they are and not try to convert them to your way of thinking. The better you can understand your customers the more prosperous you will be!

Dan Brown’s Book-Marketing Plan Works For eBooks Too!

Best-selling Author Dan Brown (The Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons) has a new book: The Lost Symbol.

He’s getting the word out through interviews such as the one in Parade Magazine which comes with my Sunday Los Angeles Times Newspaper.

Alongside the interview was an excerpt and in the corner was a box directing people to go to a website where they could download a chapter of the book for free.

You can do the same with an ebook – promote your ebook and offer a chapter of it for free. This will work with blog posts, articles, on podcasts, video, the possibilities are endless!

You Don’t Have To Get Naked To Get This Internet Marketing Lesson

Have you seen the billboard of Khloe Kardashian (of the show “The Kardashians” and “Khloe After Dark” radio show?

She’s naked but it’s innocent-it’s an ad for PETA. You know, the ones that say “I’d rather go naked than wear fur.”

Khloe is an animal lover and really wanted to support PETA, but she wasn’t too crazy about the idea of getting naked to do it.

But when she saw the animals being skinned her anger was “bigger” than her fear of getting naked. So she said “Yes.”

But then she got to the set, had her make up and hair done, and when it came time to drop the robe she froze.

Luckily her sister, Kim Kardashian, who had done a similar kind of shoot before, gave her a pep talk and coached her through it.

So what does this have to do with you?

There are really two lessons here. If you really want to have a successful online business but you’re scared, you’ve got to figure out what motivates you that’s bigger than your fear. That’s the first thing.

Then find a coach who can walk you through it – who’s been there and done that and understands what you’re going through. This is the fastest way to online success.

“Hollywood Househusbands” Shows How To Please Your eBook And Internet Marketing Customers!

Call me crazy but I love some reality tv and my new find is Househusbands of Hollywood.

On the latest episode, they had a couple on (I don’t recognize them) who had completely different attitudes toward money and the husband took issue with this wife’s “overspending” so they agreed on a budget.

She could spend $600 a month on whatever she wanted and he was not supposed to give her any flack for it. But of course he does anyway!

In this episode she goes shopping with a girlfriend and buys a pair of high heels. She says her husband will complain because she already has a pair of high heels and they laugh; the shoes are $150.

While the sales lady is writing up the order, the wife eyes a gorgeous snake-skin purse. She asks how much it will cost and the sales lady says $400.

She really wants it, so she asks her friend what she should do. Her friend tells her to buy it-adding that the husband will have a fit when he sees it.

So she buys the purse.

In the next scene she’s in the bedroom, the husband is laying on the bed and asks her what she bought.

She shows him the shoes. He doesn’t say much. Then she pulls out the purse and he KNOWs it didn’t come cheap so he asks her how much she spent.

I think she says “Three hundred and something”. He says “Three hundred and what?” She hesitates and finally says “$399″; he goes ballistic.

He complains that they turn down the heat to save money and she’s always complaining how cold she is but she spent $399 on a snake purse to wear on her arm! He just doesn’t get what it means to her.

But she expected that and she’s ready! She short circuits the conversation by telling him that she bought something for him too. Now his ears perk up and he sits up straight

She pulls out a red slinky nightgown and distracts him totally. Then she says she’ll put it on for him right now and gets him all excited.

He jumps off of the bed saying he’ll go turn up the heat to 90 degress for her and he doesn’t care what the night gown costs, he just wants her to put in on ASAP and jump into bed with him.

Moral of the story: People want to know what’s in it for them (WIIF) and will pay for what they really want. So give your target market what it wants, let them know what’s in it for them, and make it juicy and you will never want to paying customers!

Bill Rancic’s Nieces Get A Lesson In Entrepreneurialship That Holds Lessons for Internet Marketing Too!

Today I watched one of my guilty pleasures I recently discovered: Guiliana and Bill, a reality show with “The Apprentice” winner Bill Rancic and his wife, Guiliana, host on E! News. While Guiliana planned a night out with her girlfriends, Bill, who was spending time with his nieces decided to teach them about entrepreneurship.

They were planning to make friendship bracelets for free for Guiliana, but Bill saw that they were “on to something,” so he told them they should charge for them.

So the first question is, are you doing something for free that you could get paid for? I talk to so many people who are frustrated, not making any money, and don’t even consider what they are good at that they could get paid for right now.

Next Bill had the girls make a list of what it was going to cost them in materials and labor, and then they had to decide how much profit they wanted to make. (If you’re online, you’ll still have the cost of producing an ebook cover, CD graphic, and maybe a banner for your website etc.)

Do you have a great idea that makes sense from a profit standpoint? Figure out what your costs are and how much profit you need to make.

Ask yourself, “Is it a great product?” Normally you want to test the market, but in this case they didn’t do any research; Bill thought it was a great idea and was willing to help them. I suggest doing the research and if you don’t know how, find a mentor or coach who can teach it to you.

Let’s go on….Next he told the girls they had to not only have a great idea, but they had to produce high-quality finished product. Have you ever tried to make a product and skimped on the artwork design or some other aspect of the product?

Well don’t!

Next it got a little sticky, because the girls lost focus and started playing with balloons which frustrated Bill, who was yelling at them to FOCUS! But they got them done.

Do you have focus and stick-to-it-ness? You’ll need it to be successful.

And could you find a mentor? Someone who knows how to do what you want to do that can walk you through the process? These girls aren’t even teenagers, but they made a huge profit (relatively speaking) right out of the gate because they had a very knowledgeable mentor who believed in them and what they were doing and was there to help them succeed.

Then could you test the market? In this case, Bill made the introduction for them. But they had to show up with the goods, which they did.

Next, after the bracelets were made, Bill opened doors for them so they could sell them, which they did.

Do you know a potential great joint-venture partner? Or do you know someone who could introduce you to someone who knows people who want what it is you are selling?

And finally, they went out for ice cream, which was their reward for a job well done (on top of the $100 they made!)

How could you reward yourself for taking action following through and making something happen?
