Over the last 4 1/2 years I’ve been teaching ebook writing, I’ve realized that people have a lot of fear around writing one so I’ve compiled the top 5 fears and how to overcome them (or at least deal with them and get on with it!)
1. They are afraid they won’t have enough to say. The model I use in my Quick-Start 3-Day eBook Authoring Workshop is a 96-page ebook. Some people write more and some write less but that’s the standard. And some people think that they won’t have enough to fill 96 pages.
But what they don’t realize is that if they are an expert in their field (and most but not all are) they have more than enough to say, they just don’t know how to get it down on paper (so to speak) and how to start organizing them in a way that makes sense and I show you how to do that.
2. They don’t know where to start. It’s overwhelming because they have so many notes and ideas so they can’t move forward. Again, by organizing their thoughts which we do in a systematic way in the workshop they begin to see how the pieces fit together. And sometimes they see that it really is more than one ebook. Once they know that, they take just the information they want for THIS ebook, set the rest aside and it stops being overwhelming!
3. They are afraid it won’t be good enough so they are afraid to even try and they pass up the opportunity to become a bona fide ebook author and all the rewards that come with it! They think it’s easier not to try than to try and face their biggest fear-that they aren’t good enough. But the truth is that I’ve never seen a poorly written ebook in my workshop-honest!
And generally people who take the workshop know their subject, they are alrady an expert and they have everything they need in their head. I just help them get it out on to paper (as I said) . But occasionally someone doesn’t know what they want to write about and we start from scratch. But either way, people who are willing to spend the time and the money taking my workshop are winners!
4. They are afraid that they WILL succeed and it will really change their lives and they are afraid of change. They are afraid that maybe they will make more money than their spouse and he/she will feel threatened. Or they will have to adjust their self image.Or some other reason, so they pass and stay stuck in a life that doesn’t make them happy.
5. They are afraid they won’t be able to write an ebook in 72 hours or less (which is how long it takes in the workshop). And the truth is some people do and some don’t. But anyone can get it done in 72 hours when they use my system.
It really comes down to motivation and planning. Some people plan to get it done over the weekend and others have commitments and don’t spend the whole weekend working on their ebook so they don’t expect to finish by the end of the weekend. But they want to learn the process. Everyone is different.
So if you’re afraid to write an ebook, that’s okay. But don’t let it stop you. I’ve taught everyone from an 80-year old great grandmother to a single mom with 6 disabled children (who even got a book deal with my publisher from the workshop!) I’ve worked with welfare moms, and even other Internet Experts! So I know you can do it! Anyone can. If you can talk you can write an ebook!

People Spend Too Much Money Getting Their Internet Business Off The Ground And Get Into Debt Needlessly! (But you don’t have to!)
Let me start with a confession. I’m guilty; I spent over $60,000 learning the Internet and I got way over my head in debt when I started. Knowing what I know now, I would never do it that way if I were starting now. And I’m not alone. A lot of my students say the same thing.
But here’s the thing…there are start-up costs with any new business and by comparison to a brick and mortar operation, it’s cheap to start an Internet Business. In fact it levels the playing field; just about anyone can do it! There are some costs to starting your own business online, but even if you ultimately spent $5,000 or $10,000 that’s nothing compared to the $100,000 or even $1 million you would pay for something like a McDonald’s franchise. It’s peanuts by comparison.
Here’s a little secret: you can get started making money online to fund your business with NO MONEY out of your pocket! In fact, it’s never been easier, and it’s something that most people don’t take advantage of. It’s called affiliate marketing.
The beauty of affiliate marketing is that somebody else has done all the work! They spent the money to develop the product, create graphics, write copy, put up web pages, and create marketing tools so you don’t have to. All you have to do is take those tools and get the word out. With social marketing, it’s never been easier to do. And you don’t have to worry about spam, because your list on these sites have given you permission to communicate with them.
Then you can use that money to get the education you need to learn to make a 6-figure income online. And here’s a special tip: if you want to take advantage of my coaching program or someone else’s, you can usually become an affiliate and recommend it to others. Your affiliate commission can pay for your coaching!
